New York Wave 30 minute documentary by NHK/Japan Original air date: 10-January 2010 -- Channel BS1. (Japanese with English subtitles).
This well-loved show has been on Japanese public television for 15 years; The network NHK is the Japanese equivilant of the BBC (in the United Kingdom) or PBS (in the United States). Each documentary-style episiode showcases a unique young New Yorker.
The crew followed me for several months and created this full-length episode that shows how I work and what I do.
Watch as I create a giant LEGO model of Times Square, play with kids at events, and take on my biggest project ever!
Just a thought but does Nathan give you much competition up there? I hear he's from New York as well. He also has the largest privately owned collection. I just thought that would give a bit of competition for you.
SWEET!!! A really great doco! Dare I invite a Lego building genius like yourself, well here goes. You are invited to view & comment on my Battle of Endor MOC which is now finally complete. [MAY THE BRICKS BE WITH YOU]
We all know you're the King of the Brick, but do you do any work with Technic? I'm fascinated by insanely complicated creations that can do like a zillion things at once.
SWEET!!! As an AFOL I enjoyed the documentary on your work, & loved that Polar Bear, it looked real! "A Fantastic Job" I only wish I was in your shoes for just one moment, what a great job you have. You put my Lego collection to shame as it only fills up half of my double garage.
"SEAN KENNEY ROCKS" [MAY THE BRICKS BE WITH YOU]
That is an excellent documentary. I was already familiar with your work, but it's so much better to get a bit more insight into life of the builder and the building process. You definitely nailed the expression on the polar's bear's eyes.
Looking forward to the pictures of the rest of the zoo set as you build them!
truely amazing. the polor bear is stunning. what other animals did you make for the zoo? the city has so much detail in it. and the polor bear looks real from far away. the fact that you dedicate your life to lego is amazing, it's so good that you made this website for all of us to view your creations and for people to view ours. can you please have a look at this creation and tell me how to make it bigger and how to make a good grass field and an amazing courtyard with allot of detail. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/177358
thank you again for the movie and for making the website.
It took me a while to find the time to view this, but that time spent was entirely worthwhile! This really gave me a MUCH greater appreciation for not only the quality and skill of your creations, but also the dedication and professionalism you exude in every aspect of your work. As someone who also makes a living from his art, I found this very motivating. Congratulations on all of your success in this unique career, and thank you for the inspiration that reaches far beyond the bricks that we both love so much!
WOW! Sean you have stunned my eyes once again! This art of yours is truly amazing and I admire your work! Keep on brickin' Sean =D
I like it

I really enjoyed watching this video. You are truly an inspiration to us all I think. I can't wait to get my LEGO back out of storage once they finish building our new house. I will finally have the the LEGO studio of my dreams. Thanks so much for sharing.
Wow you have my dream job that is what i want to do when im older oh and my name is shane your name is sean they are almost the same our initials are SK maybe i will be the next sean i really want to do your job you are like the person i look up to
Is Lego art? A question that's been talked about for a while. But after watching the video I'm now convinced that Lego is sculpture and Sean K. is not merely a "Lego Artist" but a world class sculptor. Your talent, your tenacity, and your charm shine in this video.
Nice work on the polar bear. watching that reminded me how i used to always say when i was a kid that i wanted to have a job building with LEGO when i grow up. Im still young maybe i can still find that dream job.
Well well... wish I had time to lollygag around with foreign film crews, doing interviews, sipping mochaccinos and having woman throw themselves at my feet in adoration... Wait never mind, that's what I spent the 90's doing. My bad. Kidding aside, congrats on this man! If anyone deserves this kind of attention, it's you! Thanks for all you do for us! ~ Chris.
Wow. Now that I can see the incredible detail on each individual model, I can appreciate the perfection of them. You have made some of the best creations that I have ever seen, and I love the documentary. I cannot imagine the amount of time put into these, and I thank you for creating this website.
Wow... I am SO jealous! Have you ever thought about building like a house, like maybe 1:25 scale? PLEASE check out my site, I just built a 848 piece parthenon.
Wow...your inspiration is larger than all your lego bricks together, but then again seeing that massive archive of bricks, I might actually be wrong. Good luck with the other 29 animals!
Great work! The polar bear is amazing. I am THE WORLDS BIGGEST PENGUIN FAN I HOPE ONE OF THOSE ANIMALS IS A PENGUIN. Did it really take a whole day to make the eye? could you please check out my best creation so far. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/163298
Careful, Mr.Kenney, being a Japanese celebrity is an odd, wonderful, strange thing. If you ever go over there, expect both men and women to glomp you. No, that's not a good thing. Think, running tackle-hug with lots of squealing.
30 more?!?!?! Seriously?!?! Your masochism is only further proof of your greatness. Thank you for posting this, as it will unfortunately be as close to meeting you as I will probably ever get. I have to say though, I was a little creeped out by the way that Gorton's Fisherman guy just kept staring at me...Hahaha~H
Impressive. Serious... I didn't know he's so kind I also didn't expect he likes kids..... I thought he was a bit of an overworked workaholic. Really interesting. Nice vid. this defenitely changed my opinion about the best LEGO builder ever!!
You're crazy! Assuming that they weren't making that up about you building 30 more animals, you're a glutton for punishment! Oh yeah, now that you're a big star on TV, I'm going to be stalking you with a camera. ;)
ALL HAIL SEAN! ALL HAIL SEAN! TO THE LORD OF LEGO! TO THE MASTER OF MASTERS! TO MY FAVORITE GUY IN THE WORLD! If I had that many LEGOs, I would build a scale replica of... Mr. Kenney himself. I want Kenney to come to my house! So we can build something together! I have MANY ideas.
Wow! 30 more animals! Sounds like you'll be having fun! I may have missed it, but I didn't hear them say the zoo. Just that it was famous. Where can we see the masterpiece in person? I love those eyes on the bear and all the curves.
Every time I see another of your creations, my jaw drops and my mind goes into stasis lock! I feel like a kindergartener congratulating a college grad on his Master's, but I just gotta say this is an amazing creation.
