Once again, you're setting a new standard of excellence here, Arthur! Although Steamboat Willie is historically significant (and iconic), it's also a fantastic cartoon. This was a stunning achievement and I know take off my virtual cap to mourn its loss.

I had a smaller brick mosaic on top of my TV which fell off and shattered (or exploded more accurately) everywhere so I can imagine the effect of something larger! That'll teach you for trying something original and creative ;)

Outstanding work! you've got the perspective perfect! and the grey fading work on the edges really gives it more realism that a drawing would have! Anyways, this is one of the most impressive LEGO mosiacs I've ever seen! maybe the best!

This is an excellent build! My daughters absolutely adore Mickey, so I will be sure to show them tonight. I'm sorry that it collapsed on you....but sometimes the hardest lessons are the ones best learned.

All of my mosaics are studs up and I think they have come out quite well. Nice job on mickey, by the way!

It really fooled me when I saw the thumbnail on the notification window. I thought it was a cartoon you had drawn and I said "This isn't Lego!" But it WAS, and it was a good mosaic. I'm just sorry that it crumbled but as you say, you have plenty of them for future use. Mickey looks great and the curves are really excellent. I think ol' Walt would have enjoyed this tremendously. My hat is off to a great job. I've got a suggestion, next time you build one of these; use bricks for a backing "sheet" and stack them together as you go. Every two or three levels, put in some 1x2's to connect them, about 6 or eight studs apart. That should give you plenty of support and keep it from crumbling. The bricks, as I'm sure you're aware, can be any color because they won't show. You could even leave gaps in the bricks, as long as the gaps don't coincide, to stretch out your supply.
